New credentials service for students and alumni
Career Services has negotiated a discounted first-year rate for all students and alumni who sign up for an account with Interfolio, a company specializing in the storage and management of letters of recommendation for those applying to graduate and professional school. Career Services will no longer provide and maintain a credentials file service. If you had previously established a credentials file service account with Career Services, you received an email from us about how your files can be transferred to Interfolio.
Who should consider a service like Interfolio?
Students and alumni who are interested in applying to any kind of graduate or professional school, fellowship, scholarship or nominated internship requiring letters of recommendation should consider using this or a similar service. An Interfolio account allows you to:
Store unlimited amounts of both confidential and non-confidential material. This includes almost any type of document including transcripts, letters of recommendation, writing samples, test scores.
Manage your documents and request confidential letters through your account. This gives your writers the ability to electronically upload or mail their letter directly to Interfolio. Although you won't have direct access to the letters, you have complete control over when and where they are sent.
Send documents electronically or via hard copy to graduate and professionals schools.
Not all graduate and professional school programs require a credentials service. If you have questions about this or other aspects of application to graduate or professional school, feel free to make an appointment with a career adviser or come to walk-in hours.
What is the cost of Interfolio?
Princeton students and alumni will receive a discounted rate of $15 for the first year of service. Each additional year will be $19. In addition to the annual fee, there are delivery fees associated with each letter sent to each institution. For the most common electronic upload, the delivery fee is $4 per letter, per institution. More details about delivery fees can be found here.
