Networking is one of the most effective ways to find a job. And while it's not quite so simple as the common adage "it's all about who you know," making connections while you are in school will go a long way when it comes time to find internships or jobs later. From alumni and friends to potential employers, there are a number of proven ways to grow your network — in fact, you probably already have one.

From figuring who to network with to learning how to communicate professionally, the resources here will help you make connections that stick. It takes a little face time, and the ability to resist the urge to do everything online, but we promise it will be worth it. (Don't worry: there's even a role for social media.)
