Dinner with 12 Tigers
Alum guest: Lauren Meehan ’08, director at Newark Arts Education Roundtable Dinner with 12 Tigers is a series of dinners that bring together current students and alumni of similarly underrepresented backgrounds (race, culture, first-generation, and/or low socioeconomic status).
Each dinner features an alum who shares their personal reflections about their experience on campus, discuss the transition from college to career, and offer advice on various professional development topics. Space is limited and RSVPs are required.
Alum bio: Lauren grew up in New Jersey and was supporting herself financially beginning in high school. As a mixed race girl from a working class background, Lauren initially found it hard to fit in at Princeton. Over time, she began to feel more comfortable due to incredible friendships and involvement in community service initiatives, namely the Service in Style Fashion show which raised over $25,000 toward charities like Autism Speaks and Operation Smiles. After Princeton, Lauren obtained her Masters in Criminal Justice from Rutgers in 2010 and has since worked for a number of organizations such as the Victoria Foundation and the Newark Arts Education Roundtable (NAER) that support art, education, youth and community development efforts.
