Join Gary Perlin *75 S78 P07 as he reflects on his career in finance and provides tips on what it is like to work in different positions within the same industry.

Gary Perlin *75, S78, P07 recently retired after a 40-year career in finance, which included senior roles across both the private and public sectors in global and domestic markets. He served as: Chief Financial Officer of Capital One Financial Corporation (2003-2013), Chief Financial Officer of the World Bank (1993-2003), and Sr. VP Finance & Treasurer of Fannie Mae (1982-1993). He currently advises the U.S. Treasury on creating an Office of Risk Management and lectures at various universities. Based in the Washington, DC area for most of his professional life, Mr. Perlin brings perspective gained by working with business leaders and policy makers through periods of crisis, innovation, growth and change.
