In 2012, Ted Cruz was elected as the 34th US Senator from Texas. Cruz is a passionate fighter for limited government, economic growth, and the Constitution, winning a victory in both the Republican primary and the general election.
In the Senate, Cruz serves on the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; the Committee on Armed Services; the Committee on the Judiciary; the Special Committee on Aging; and the Committee on Rules and Administration.
Before being elected Senator, Cruz was the Solicitor General of Texas, the States chief lawyer before the U.S. Supreme Court. Cruz was the nations youngest Solicitor General, the longest serving Solicitor General, and the first Hispanic Solicitor General of Texas.
