Real World Ready course now available for all Princeton students and alumni
Billed as the “GPS for Adulthood,” the Real World Ready course produced by Real World Playbook features quick videos and tools to help students and recent graduates navigate financial, health, living and work-related decisions. Free access to this course is being provided for all undergraduates, graduate students and alumni through the financial literacy initiative, a partnership between the offices of Career Services, Finance and Treasury, Financial Aid, and the Graduate School to empower all students to cultivate financial wellness during their time at Princeton and beyond. In addition to this comprehensive online course, Princeton students and alumni will also receive access to resources available on www.realworldplaybook.com, including sample emails and helpful services.
“Empowering all students with the knowledge and skills they need to make sound financial decisions can have an important impact in their lives on both a personal and professional level,” said Eva Kubu, director of Career Services.
Students and alumni can find codes to redeem their free subscription to the course in Handshake.
Real World Playbook was founded in 2016 by Genevieve Ryan, a lawyer, MBA and member of Princeton’s Class of 2011. After graduating from law school and starting her career, Ryan realized that while she was prepared for success professionally, topics like personal finances, health care and living situation were a real challenge.
"Never before has a community existed around this critical time in one’s life," said Ryan. "There’s something unique about this transition - it’s universal but not spoken about, and it’s our mission to start a dialogue that engages, educates and empowers twenty-somethings to succeed when they start out in life."
